We know that no two people believe everything in life exactly the same. We do not even exactly believe everything the same as we did just a few years ago. We are all growing in the faith. Having said that, we do believe that there are a few essentials that we should agree on.
In the essentials of the faith, we have unity. In non-essentials we show the rule of grace and love.
We Believe
1. There is one God who exists in three Persons. The Father, The Son, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit.
2. God's Son, Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, He Died on the Cross to save us from our sin, He rose from the dead on the third day
3. Salvation is by grace through faith alone
4. Baptism (by immersion) is commanded by God for all who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior
5. Repentance, (Turning from serving and commiting sin) is required by God and necessary for salvation. We believe that salvation is accompanied by God's sanctifying power. Salvation is by Grace alone and is evidenced by change of life in the believer. We are not only set free from the penalty of sin but we are set free from the power of sin. We are not saved "in" our sins we are saved "from" our sins. All things become new, old things are passed away.
6. The infilling of the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:17, Acts 1:8, Acts Chapter 2:3,4 &11, Acts 19:6, 1st. Cor. 12:10-30 etc. is a gift of God available for all believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It is appropiated by faith and is accompanied by speaking in tongues, as noted by the Apostle Peter as evidence that believers had received the Holy Spirit in Acts 10: 45 & 46.
7. Leaders have higher requirements than others in their Christian living and lifestyles. He or She who is called to ministry must abide by a higher standard.
